  • Local vigilantes rescued 3 others abducted alongside the two victims

Terrorists have abducted a former National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Director, Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkadir, and his daughter at Bakori LGA of Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria.

The abduction is coming shortly after another band of terrorists stormed Kurami village in Bakori Local Government Area of the State, where they kidnapped the wife and two children of Dr Ibrahim Kurami, a member of the Katsina State House of Assembly.

Last week Friday, some terrorists abducted some children and relatives of the Secretary to the Katsina State Government (SSG) in Katsina, Mustapha Inuwa.

And the same last weekend, the younger sister of Hon. Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki, Deputy Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, was kidnapped. She is still being held.

Sources said that the terrorists that invaded Bakori also abducted three other residents of the community alongside the NBC director and daughter.

The trio who were abducted by the terrorists who were wielding AK 47 rifles include Alhaji Bello Aminu Bakori, Shamsuddeen Aminu and a certain Habibu Rabe, a staff of the Local Education Authority, Bakori.

However, they regained their freedom one hour after the abduction as vigilantes in the area mobilized themselves and went after them. And in a gun battle, the vigilantes rescued the trio.

However, the former NBC director and his daughter are still being held hostage.
