Following the sustained military aerial and ground operations in Zamfara State, the terrorists and bandits have shifted their operations to neighbouring Sokoto and Kebbi States.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, the terror bandits attacked Saminaka village in Tangaza Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State, killing six people, including two married women.
Saminaka village, whose inhabitants are mostly hunters, was invaded by the terror bandits after most of the most of the men had left for hunting.
Sources said it was a reprisal attack against the area for the killing of 13 terrorists and bandits who attacked Tangaza town on Saturday.
According to a source, “they shot two women to death and slaughter four young men. All vigilantes and Yan Sakai in the area are now in the bush, searching for the assailants.”
On Saturday, an angry mob killed and burnt the corpses of 13 bandits, who had attacked and killed four people in Tangaza town.
Earlier, the terror bandits on Friday morning killed five people and left five others injured in Shanga LGA of Kebbi State.
They had stormed the village of Uchukku at about 1:50 am on Friday, rustling cattle and shooting to death five people.
A resident of Shanga, the headquarters of Shanga LGA, Yushau Garba Shanga, said four of those killed died on the spot, while the remaining one died in the hospital.
According to him, the injured people had been admitted to a hospital in Shanga for medical attention.
He said, among the injured, was an infant girl who was shot in the leg.
He said the residents of the affected community had since deserted the area as the majority of them relocated to Shanga for safety.
Said the resident: “The five killed were of the same family. They were all brothers. The bandits invaded their community at exactly 1:50 am on Friday.
“They targeted the family in order to rustle their cattle and in the process killed the deceased.”
The Kebbi State Police Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Nafiu Abubakar, did not pick calls placed on his phone or reply to the text message sent to him.
