Nigeria: Police arrest “notorious” terrorists, informants in Katsina State

The Katsina Police Command said it has arrested 30-year old Ibrahim Sama’ila, alias Yellow, from Sabon Garin Faguwa, Dutsinma Local Government Area (LGA), who resides in the forest.

Ibrahim is a known notorious terrorists commander under the command of Sani Muhidinge, a notorious terrorists and bandits’ leader who has been on the wanted list of the Police.

The Police also said it has arrested another notorious bandit, a 22-year old Basiru Mu’azu of MaiGezoji, Tashar Mai Alewa, Danmusa LGA.

On September 15, the terrorists and bandits, in their numbers, invaded on foot from the forest, shooting sporadically with AK 47 riflles and attacked kitibawa village in Dutsinma LGA, killng two villagers.

They also set some shops ablazed and kidnapped eighteen women with their seven babies. 

 Police Area Commander, Dutsinma, ACP Aminu Umar, led a team of Policemen to the area, blocked the terrorists and bandits and engaged them in a gun duel.

According to the Police, “the doggedness, uncommon courage and tactical operational strategy adopted by the police officers made the bandits to flee into the forest with varying degree of bullets wounds. In the course of profiling the scene two women were rescued and sixty sheeps, thirty four cows and one donkey were recovered.

“In the course of investigation and based on credible intelligence, on September 20, the Command also succeeded in arresting the duo of one Yaquba Abubakar, aged 45 years of Tashar Mai-Alewa, Danmusa LGA, an informer and supplier of necessities to bandits and Murtala Umar, aged 34 years, of the same address, a health worker that specializes in giving medical treatment to bandits.

“The suspects confessed to the commission of the offense. Investigation is ongoing.”
