Three farmers killed in fresh terror bandits attack in Plateau State, Northcentral Nigeria

Terror bandits on Friday morning struck in Nkiendonwro village of Miango District of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing three farmers.

Madison Davidson, spokesperson of Irigwe ethnic group, said the deceased were on their way to the farm when they ran into an ambush laid by the bandits.

Saying that the incident had been reported to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Bassa LGA, Davidson said: “This is again another horrific and traumatic situation the Irigwe nation has been confined to today. Very sad that these marauders have continued to kill us in their evil plans of taking over our ancestral land which in God we trust will never see the light.

“The Government and the security personnel should wake up to their duty and ensure that the terror being unleashed on the innocent people is stopped or curtailed.”

The Plateau State Police Spokesperson, ASP Ubah Gabriel, who confirmed the incident, said the Police personnel had been deployed to prevent further attacks.

On October 4, three persons were killed while three others injured during an attack at Hukke village of Miango District.

Herders and people of Irigwe often blame each other for attacks and counter attacks in villages of Bassa.
