Nigeria: Taraba communities where Cameroonian Ambazonian separatists killed monarch, 10 others, deserted

Hundreds of residents of Taraba border communities have fled their homes following killing of 11 people, including a traditional ruler, by Ambazonian separatists fighters who style themselves as Ambazonian Defence Forces (ADF).

The fighters attacked some border communities in Takum Local Government Area on Wednesday and killed 11 people.

The Ambazonian soldiers also burnt many houses and schools and carted away properties.

Sources confirmed that last month, Cameroonian soldiers sacked three border communities in Kurmi LGA of the State under the pretext of searching for Ambazonian separatists.

Chairman, Takum LGA, Mr. Shiban Tikari, said five bodies of those killed were recovered and several other persons are still missing.

He said soldiers from Takum were drafted to protect the border communities from both separatists and Cameroonian soldiers that have been attacking border communities in Kurmi and Takum LGAs of the State.
