Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists’ ambush killed 337 soldiers in Nigeria within 2 years, says Report

Boko Haram/Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists have killed a total of 569 people, including 337 soldiers, in 62 recorded ambush in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria since 2019.

SB Morgan (SBM) Intelligence, a research organisation which compiles and analyses data about happenings in Nigeria, said in a report released Thursday that 29 operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and the Joint Task Force were killed within the same period.

According to the report,  92 insurgents and 111 “unclassified persons” were killed in similar incidents.

The statistics shows that of the 62 ambushes recorded in Nigeria, 53 attacks occurred in Northeast while nine took place in Northwest.

A breakdown shows that Borno State recorded the highest number of ambush attacks with 45; Zamfara, seven; Yobe, four; Kaduna, two; Katsina, two; Kebbi, one and Sokoto, one.
