Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets on Saturday carried out series of sorties in parts of Sokoto and Zamfara States, Northwest Nigeria, killing key bandits’ leaders and their foot soldiers and destroyed their camps.
Specifically, the airstrikes, conducted by aircrafts of the Air Component Operation Hadarin Daji, decimated the bandits’ camps at Dangwandi and Tsakai area of Isa Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State and locations of bandit kingpin Bello Guda Turji, his subordinate commander Bello Buzu along and their cohorts operating within Sokoto and some parts of Zamfara States.
Local sources have also confirmed that bodies of “neutralized” bandits were seen all over the camps just as the bandits’ means of economic sustenance were destroyed while “fleeing bandits were also trailed and neutralized.”
