Not fewer than five officials of the Borno State government supervising the construction of the Chibok-Damboa road were abducted by Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists on Wednesday morning.

Sources said that the victims, who were supervising the road construction, were forcefully taken away near Wovi, a remote village in Chibok Local Government Area.

But another source confirmed that one of the abducted staff, a driver, escaped unhurt.

According to a top official of the Borno State government, “yes, it is so sad and we are worried about this latest developments.

“The abductions came as a shocker to us. I can confirm to you that they were abducted this morning.”
