Nigeria, China to enhance “longstanding ties,” says AGF Malami

The Federal Government of Nigeria is working “assiduously in all ramifications to enhance the longstanding multi-sector mutual relationship with the Government of the People Republic of China,” Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, said on Friday.

Speaking when he received the Ambassador of the People Republic of China, Cui Jianchu, in his office in Abuja, Malami said: “I believe it is on account of mutual support, with particular regards to the agreements on infrastructure, security and associated things that we have succeeded mutually in moving our diplomatic, economic and social relationship to a high level.”

Malami said the desired political goodwill expected of the leadership of the two countries has been re-enacted maintaining commitment to more mutually beneficial engagement and working relationship.

In his remark, Ambassador Cui Jianchu reiterated the fact that Nigeria remains the giant of Africa and that the two countries stand to mutually benefit in exchange of ideas on ideals of democracy, reduction of poverty and other forms of multilateral diplomatic engagement.
