Terror bandits have struck again in Chikun, Zangon Kataf, Igabi and Zaria Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Kaduna State, killing nine people .
Kaduna State Commissioner Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement on Friday that the figures were confirmed to the State government by the military and police authorities.
Aruwan said three people were killed when bandits barricaded the Buruku-Udawa section of the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road in Chikun LGA, adding that one person sustained gunshot injuries and is receiving treatment in hospital.
The Commissioner said in the Yola-Kadi general area also of Chikun LGA, bandits killed one and left another resident injured.
He added that bandits killed two people in Sako village, Zangon Kataf LGA. Also in Zangon Kataf LGA, two corpses were discovered by a patrol team in the Kurfi-Magamiya general area.
In Zaria LGA, bandits killed one Alhaji Habibu in Saye village.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai was quoted to have expressed sadness at these reports and prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed in the attacks, while wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
