Troops Foil Boko Haram/ISWAP Terrorists Invasion, Looting of Kawuri, Kayamla, Northeast Nigeria, Eliminate Scores

The Armed Forces of Nigeria on Monday, in two different operations, eliminated scores of Boko Haram/Islamic State in West Africa province (ISWAP) terrorists who invaded Kawuri and Kayamla communities within Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

Sources confirmed that the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists had attempted to attack a military base at Kawuri to loot the armoury but the troops obtained intelligence on the movement.

The Nigerian Army, based on the intelligence, ambushed and eliminated scores of them before the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets shelled their fleeing gun trucks.

At the same vein, with the support of the Civilian JTF, troops of the 73 Battalion stationed in Jere eliminated Boko Haram terrorists on a looting spree after they invaded Kayamla community.

The terrorists were ambushed while escaping with rustled cattle and other items they stole from the community.

Items recovered from the terrorists in the two operations include gun trucks, sophisticated weapons, ammunition and phones.
