The Zamfara State Police Command have arrested Aminu Baba, a prominent businessman dealing in cars and other vehicles at Aminchi Motors Gusau, State capital for eating and selling human parts to some unknown persons.
Also the Police Tactical Operatives of 42 PMF Squadron Gusau engaged in gun duel with terrorists at some locations under Gummi, Bukkuyum and Maru LGAs recovered a rocket propelled launcher and locally fabricated guns.
Baba, who was arrested last week over the killing and dismemberment of nine-year-old boy in Gusau, confessed openly of being a cannibalist who also sells human parts to clients.
The suspect, who told journalists shortly after he was paraded by the State Police Commissioner, Mr Ayuba N Elkanah, that he has three wives and 19 children, said he employed two teenagers to scout for young boys to kill for him and they had done that twice, getting N1million in return.
“I paid them N500,000 for each of the killing of the two young boys. We removed penis, eyes, intestines and Esophagus and I used to eat these human organs and sell some to those who need them,” he said.
He, however, kept mum about where he raised the money he used to pay the killers and also did not disclose whether he had collaborators in the State.
The police commissioner said the other suspect, Abdulshakur Mohammad, had confessed that that was the third time he was contracted by Baba to source for human parts.
He said he got N500,000, after the first and second operations before he was arrested.
He said connived with Baba and Ahmad Tukur to deceive the victim, who was taken to an uncompleted building.
Mohammad said after killing him, they removed his intestine, Esophagus, Private part and two Eyes, which they took to Baba who in return gave them N500,000 as agreed.
Two weeks ago, the remains of the nine year old boy identified Ahmad Yakubu Aliyu was found in an uncompleted building in Barakallahu area of Gusau metropolis.
Ahmad went missing shortly after he came back from Islamiyya School in Gadar Baga area of the city.
The owner of the building spotted the decomposing body of the little boy when came to continue his construction work.
He immediately closed the site and reported the matter to the police who later confirmed that Ahmad was killed and dumped.
The full statement by the Police Commissioner reads: “Our working synergy with other security agencies in Zamfara State is very cordial and is yielding positive result in the ongoing operations against criminal elements in the State. To corroborate my statement, apart from the joint operations at the hinter lands and patrols within cities and towns in Zamfara, on 7th January, 2022 Military operatives deployed along Dansadau road in Maru LGA intercepted and rescued 17 kidnapped victims who were abducted since on the 14th December, 2021 in Wamba Village of Mariga LGA of Niger State. The 17 rescued victims were handed over to the Command by the Brigade Commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army, Gusau where they were medically checked, debriefed by the Police and handed them over to the Commissioner of Police Niger State Command who would re-unit the victims with their families.
“Many suspects were arrested in connection with various offences including criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, cannibalism and dealing with human parts. Exhibits recovered includes: Intestine, Esophagus, Penis and two Eyes
“During interrogation, one of the suspecs confessed that he was contracted to source for human parts at the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) which he successfully before his arrest.
“The buyer of human parts, one Aminu Baba who has 19) children confessed to the crime and his revelations are assisting Police investigation in arresting other members of his gang. He further confessed that he usually eats the human parts and identified throat as the most delicious part. He also sells some away.
“On 8th January, 2022, Police Tactical Operatives led by the Commanding officer 42 PMF Squadron Gusau, while on extensive bush combing at some locations under Gummi, Bukkuyum and Maru LGAs were heavily engaged to a gun duel by some suspected hoodlums.
“The Police operatives successfully repelled the attack, forcing the hoodlums to retreat and escaped back to the forest with possible gunshot wounds. A rocket propel launcher and locally fabricated gun belonging to the bandits were recovered at the scene.
“We also arrested a female Nigerien who stole her co-wife’s child for sale.
“Finally, I want to call on members of the public to acknowledge the effort of the security agencies in combating crimes and criminalities in the state and continue to pray for the sustenance of peace and tranquility in Zamfara State and Nigeria as a whole.”
