Buhari’s Hometown Adopts Transportation Minister, Amaechi, as ‘Trusted Son’, to be Turbaned ‘Dan Amanar Daura’ February 5

Minister of Transportation, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, has been adopted as ‘Trusted Son of Daura,’ to be turbaned as ‘Dan Amanar Daura’ on February 5, 2022.

The honour, Director of Press and Public Relations in the Ministry, Mr Eric Ojiekwe, is in recognition of Amaechi’s contributions to the socio-economic development of the country.

The statement on Friday said Amaechi will be honoured, especially for his effort in bringing to life the rail sector that has been moribund for over three decades.

The turbaning ceremony, the statement added, would be performed by the Emir of Daura, Dr Umar Farouk Umar, at the Emir’s Palace in Daura, Katsina State, by 11:00 am.

It said that ”the highlight of the occasion will be a royal durbar in honour of the Minister and invited dignitaries.”
