Temperatures Set to Rise in Nigeria, Brace Up, says Nigerian Meteorological Agency

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has alerted Nigerians on impending rise in temperatures across the States in the country.

Muntari Yusuf Ibrahim, NIMET’s General Manager, Public Relations, said in a statement on Sunday that some States will have temperatures greater than 35°C and less than 40°C, and greater than 40°C.

According to the statement, “as Nigerians prepare to celebrate Valentine’s Day, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency has given forecast on a rise in temperature across some states in Nigeria.

“The forecast noted there are areas that will have a temperature greater than 35°C and less than 40°C, and greater than 40°C.

“Parts of Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, FCT, Imo, Plateau, Adamawa, Taraba and Benue are expected to experience temperatures greater than 40°C.

“Most parts of the North (except Kano) are expected to experience temperatures greater than 35°C and less than 40°C.

“The entire inland of the South and most parts of the coastal States (except Lagos) are expected to be in the same temperature range.”
