‘Unknown Gunmen’ Kill Renowned Estate Surveyor, Gab Ofoma, in Notorious Ukpor- Lilu- Orsumoghu- Azia- Mbosi Road Linking Anambra-Imo States

Chief Gab Ofoma (Ojemba Enwe Ilo Nnewi), Chairman/CEO of Ofoma Associates Ltd was on Sunday gunned down by ‘Unknown Gunmen’ along Ukpor-Lilu-Orsumoghu-Azia-Mbosi Road which connects Anambra and Imo States. 

Chief Ofoma was killed along the notorious road inhabited by gunmen after visiting his hometown Nnewi. He was on his way back to his base in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He was murdered on the road as his driver made a detour from the Onitsha-Owerri Highway en route to Port Harcourt in order to escape the traffic jam on the highway.

Chief Ofoma was the Principal Consultant and Managing Partner of Ofoma Associates and a fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, a member of the International Federation of Realtors (Worldwide) and a senior member of the American Appraisers.

Specifically, Chief Ofoma had over 35 years experience in Real Estate Development and Services, Valuations and Facility Management. Specialized in Oil and Gas Pollution Assessments and his estate surveying firm employs over 150 persons in his offices in Port Harcourt (headquarters), Nnewi, Abuja and Lagos.

Widely known as a soft-spoken gentleman, he had the chieftaincy title Ojemba Enwe Ilo – meaning “a traveller or sojourner does not create enemies.”

Sources said that Chief Ofoma was killed for “riding in an SUV and looked like a big man.

Many people have been murdered along the Ukpor-Lilu-Orsumoghu-Azia-Mbosi Road and the gunmen easily kills anyone who drives and expensive vehicles.

It has become normal for gunmen to kill driving in expensive/luxurious vehicles unless the vehicles are accompanied by convoy of armed security operatives.

A source said that the gunmen were quiet during the Christmas/New Year season but are now back on the road, wreaking havoc on innocent citizens.

Chief Ofoma was a senior estate surveyor and valuer with his estate surveying firm employing over 150 persons in his offices in Port Harcourt (headquarters), Nnewi, Abuja and Lagos.
