Bill Gates’ Four Tips To Achieve Happiness

What makes the Microsoft founder happy?

Bill Gates is one of the most successful businessmen of all time, but he’s also happy and he has revealed his four main secrets.

When he participated in an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit to answer questions from users who are curious about aspects of his personal or professional life, one of them asked him how he achieves happiness. Gates noted that there are four ways to be happy.

Here we break down those four pillars of a happy life, according to the Microsoft founder.

Be generous

Considered as one of the richest men in the planet, Gates stressed in the past that one of his greatest achievements was to help kids from all over the world to have access to vaccines.

“Our biggest achievement is working with partners (including rich government-aid groups like the U.S. Agency for International Development and DFID) to make sure all the children in the world get vaccines,” Gates said back in 2019.

“This is a big part of the reason that deaths of children under 5 (have) dropped from over 10M when we started to less than 6M now. GAVI is the name of the group that was created. All the donors to GAVI deserve huge thanks (mostly from the voters in the countries who gave).”

Follow through on commitments to yourself

When he founded Microsoft back in 1980, Gates pointed out that the company’s mission was to put “a computer on every desk and in every home”. Gates stayed true to his commitments, fulfilled his mission and became a billionaire, as well as one of the most well-known men worldwide.

Improve your state of mind through exercise

Researchers have proved that even small amounts of exercise can help you achieve happiness. By working out just a few minutes per day, you can be more cheerful and active.

Allocate time for family bonding

Sharing quality time with your kids or parents does not only help you bond with them, but it also brings joy to everyone due to the increasing sense of belonging and security within the family.

“Some recently said that when your children are doing well it really is very special and as a parent I completely agree,” wrote Gates.
