Buhari Directs Amaechi, Malami, Ngige, Sylva, Akpabio, Others Eyeing Elective Office In 2023 To Resign In 5 Days

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed all members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) contesting elective positions in 2023 to resign.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, announced the new directive while briefing State House journalists on the outcome of the FEC meeting presided over by President Buhari at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Mohammed said the Ministers have been given up till May 16, 2022, to quit the cabinet.

Among the ministers eyeing elective seats are Rotimi Amaechi (Transportation), Chris Ngige (Labour), Abubakar Malami (Justice), Godswill Akpabio (Niger Delta), Timipre Sylva (Minister of State for Petroleum Resources).
