Violence Continues In Anambra State As Gunmen Kill 2 Soldiers At Popular 3-3 Estate, Nkwelle Ezunaka, Near Onitsha

The violence in Anambra State continued Sunday night as some gunmen killed two Nigerian Army soldiers during a shootout at 3-3 estate, Nkwelle Ezunaka, near Onitsha, Anambra State.

Sources confirmed that the shooting in which the two soldiers were killed started at about 10pm and lasted for hours.

The source said the gunmen had attacked some military men at a spot where they were stationed within the estate to provide security, adding that the neighbourhood was thrown into panic as gunshots rent the air.

According to the source: “It is true. Yesterday (Sunday) night at housing estate gate, gunmen attacked the military men securing us around 10pm. The attack lasted three hours. Two soldiers were killed.”

The source noted that the gunmen also visited the Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Onitsha, where they also shot intermittently.
