Nigeria: Terrorists Ambush Soldiers In Wase, Plateau State

Terrorists have ambushed a team of soldiers at Zurak Kampani community, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Zurak Kampani community is over a 100 kilometres drive from the headquarters of the LGA.

The terrorists, according to locals, arrived the community when residents were involved in market activities.

However, Major Ishaku Takwa, the Spokesperson of a multi-security Task Force, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), maintaining peace in the State, who confirmed the ambush, said no soldier was killed.

But a resident of Wase town, Abdullahi Usman, said the terrorists killed one soldier and injured another.

The resident said the soldiers stationed in the area responded to the ambush and repelled the attack.

A day before the ambush, terrorists had stormed Pinau village of the same Wase LGA and rustled over 500 cattle.

Communities in Wase LGA have recently been experiencing terrorists and bandits activities which has forced many to flee their homes.
