Nigeria Police Seal NNPP Headquarters, Other Offices In Maiduguri, Arrest Senatorial Candidate

The Borno State government has sealed off the State headquarters of the New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP) in Maiduguri, the State capital.

The party’s headquarters alongside some of its offices were sealed by the Borno State Urban Development Management Board on Thursday.

NNPP Borno State Governorship candidate, Dr Umaru Alkali, who confirmed the sealing of his party’s State office told journalists in Maiduguri that the party’s Borno Central Senatorial Candidate, Attom Muhammad Maigira, was also arrested after he honored a Nigeria Police invitation.

Maigira is currently behind bars.

Dr Alkali added that the Policemen were deployed to the party Secretariat along Abbaganaram and Gidan Maradara area between Wednesday and Thursday to prevent the party faithful workers from entering their offices.

The party office is being guarded by by dozens of anti-riot Policemen and Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) personnel along with patrol vehicles.
