Nigeria: FG Takes Over Jigawa State Specialist Hospital Dutse, Converts It To Teaching Hospital

The Federal Government has taken over the only existing Jigawa State Specialist Hospital located in the State capital, Dutse and converted it to a Teaching Hospital for the Federal University Dutse (FUD).

Sources told Global Upfront Newspapers (GUN) that the Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire at the Minister’s office in Abuja, formalized the handing and taking over the facility.

Speaking at the event, Governor Badaru Abubakar said the occasion marked another milestone in the history of Jigawa State health care sector as “the initiative will improve the health care delivery services in the State.

The Federal government had acquired the Specialist Hospital and converted it to a Teaching hospital for the Federal University Dutse (FUD). The FUD already has its approval from the National University Commission (NUC) to offer degree in Medicine.
