South East In Turmoil: Nnamdi Kanu Sues Simon Ekpa, 4 Others For “Violent, Disturbing And False Declarations”

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has sued the self-acclaimed leader of IPOB-Autopilot and proponent of Unknown Gunmen alleging ““plethora of grave infractions arising from his violent, disturbing and false declarations.”

In a Writ of Summons of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja Judiciary Division dated 13 December 2022, Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor dragged the IPOB leader’s self-acclaimed discipline, Simon Ekpa to court alongside Anibueze Juliet, Obinna Victor Uzoaganobi, Chukwuemeka Livingstone and Raphael Chiamaka Ajaere.

A statement announcing the suit titled “Update On Legal Action Against Simon Ekpa” and signed by Barrister Ejiofor said that the suit “is just one in the long line of compelling civil and criminal litigation coming your way.”

The full statement reads: “Today, we formally commenced a legal action before the FCT High Court against Simon Ekpa, which action is founded on a plethora of grave infractions arising from his violent, disturbing and false declarations.

“I may not release further details here so that it will not prejudice the robust legal actions already lined up for him and his cohorts. It shall be coming in piecemeal. This is the first batch.

“I also want to assure Simon Ekpa and his cohorts affected by this compelling legal action, that no matter the country you people believe to be presently hiding under its sovereign protection, the full arms of the law shall certainly catch up with you all, in the legal onslaught already commenced.

“This is just one in the long line of compelling civil and criminal litigations coming your way.

“The hour has come, and I wish to reiterate that you Simon Ekpa cannot escape from the long arms of the law. We move! With this oji abatam!”

The southeast region of Nigeria has turned to a battle field as gunmen loyal to Finland-based Ekpa have been wrecking havoc in the region.

Taking orders Ekpa who declared five-day sit-at-home order, the gunmen killed a total of 12 people in the region.

Ekpa leads a break-away faction of the IPOB but remains in Finland where he is based but broadcasts to his adherents and uses the Social Media to spur them to violence and killings.
