Dangote Cement Truck Drivers Boycott South East Nigeria Over IPOB/ESN Killings, Violence

Citing the incessant killings by gunmen suspected to be Indigenous People of Biafra (POB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) in the South East region of Nigeria, truck drivers under the Dangote Cement Plc have issued a directive to all its members to avoid transport of cement to the region.

The boycott also affects Akwa Ibom State in the Nigeria Delta region.

The other States where will witness the non-supply of Dangote Cement products include Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Imo and Ebonyi.

In the letter dated December 11, 2022 by the Drivers Association, they stated: “We kindly write this short notice to the company that we are returning some way bills to the South East Nigeria due to the ongoing situation of site (sic) Nigeria those part of South East as follows: Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Imo, Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom.”
