DSS Officially In Charge Of CBN As They Invade Abuja Headquarters, Take Over Governor Emefiele’s Office

The Department of State Security (DSS) have formally taken charge of the Abuja Headquarters of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as they took over the office of Godwin Emefiele, the apex bank Governor.

Emefiele has been having a running battle with DSS over alleged terrorism financing allegations.

DSS had earlier sought a Federal High Court Abuja order to arrest Emefiele who has been out of the country for his annual leave.

However, the FCT High Court had in December 2022 barred the nation’s secret service agency from arresting, inviting, or detaining Emefiele.

But on Monday at about noon, the DSS stormed CBN headquarters with 20 vehicles filled with armed personnel.

Having taken over Emefiele’s office, the operatives then barred all staff of the bank from gaining access to it as they formally took charge.
