Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed Defeats Former Reps Speaker, Dogara, In His Bogoro LGA

  • As PDP Nakwada floors former Dogara’s aide for second term in the state assembly, promise to work harder 

Despite leading a coalition of stern opposition to the reelection bid of Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Barr Yakubu Dogara was defeated in his LGA of Bogoro. 

The immediate former Speaker lost both the gubernatorial and state assembly elections to the PDP candidates of Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir and Hon Musa Wakili Nakwada. 

While Bala Mohammed won the gubernatorial election, Musa Nakwada won the State House of Assembly reelection. 

Bala Mohammed was declared winner of the gubernatorial election in the area after polling a total of 16589 votes to defeat the APC gubernatorial candidate, Saddique Abubakar who was strongly supported by the coalition led by Yakubu Dogara polling a total of 10436 while the NNPP candidate, Haliru Dauda Jika polled  3365 votes. 

For the House of Assembly election,    Hon Musa Wakili Nakwada scored a total of 13,934 votes to defeat his closet rival, l Hon Bulus Iliya of the APC, a former Legislative aide to Yakubu Dogara who polled 12,887 votes.

The Bogoro LGA Returning Officer declared that, Musa Wakili Nakwada “scored the highest number of votes and is hereby returned elected” according to the law. 

While reacting to the outcome of the election, Chairman, Caretaker Committee Bogoro LGA, Hon Markus Bitrus Lusa described the victory of the PDP candidates, Bala Mohammed and Hon Musa Wakili Nakwada as heartwarming.                

He Urged Hon Musa Wakili Nakwada to justify the confidence reposed in him and bring more development to his people.                              

Speaking to teeming supporters at the Gobbiya Primary School, Hon Musa Wakili Nakwada said that he will work hard to bring more development to the people of Bogoro LGA.

 While appealing for support from the people, Hon Nakwada thank all those who worked hard for the victory of the PDP.

He enjoined his contestants to join hands with him to move the Bogoro LGA to greater heights.
