The Ebeano political structure founded by the former Governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement was made by Chief Emmanuel Okwor, Chairman of Ebeano, on Tuesday in Enugu.
Since the emergence of the 4th Republic in 1999, the Ebeano group has been instrumental to the emergence of the bulk of political leadership in Enugu State beginning with Senator Nnamani, Governor Sullivan Chime, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and members of National and State Assembly from the State.
The announcement is coming a day after its leader, Chimaroke, announced his decision to dump the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The former Enugu Governor has been groaning over his loss of the Enugu East Senatorial district seat to Kelvin Chukwu of the Labour Party (LP).
”The alliance with APC is to consolidate the partnership with President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu to achieve good governance in the country,” Okwo said.
He further added that members of the ‘Ebeano’ political family across the country had been consulted and in agreement with the alliance in the interest of the people.
