The Delta State Governor-elect. Sheriff Orohwedor Francis Oborevwori, has implored communities in the State to work towards maintaining peaceful coexistence among themselves in their domain at all times.
Speaking when the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), led by its President General Chief Barrister Ese Gam Owe and the Isoko Development Union (IDU) led by its President General, Professor Christopher Akpotu paid a congratulatory visit to him in Asaba, the State capital, Oborevwori emphasized that “socio-cultural organizations play a crucial role in promoting peace and security in our communities.”
Welcoming the dignitaries in his office with joy, the Governor-elect enjoined them to ensure that peace to continue to reign in his communities.
Meanwhile, Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, and Oborevwori on Wednesday present starter-packs to Delta youths at an event in Asaba.
The youths participated in various skills acquisition training under the Delta State Ministry of Science and Technology/ Delta Job and Wealth Creation Bureau, Skills Acquisition.
While advising them to take their businesses seriously and to maximise the opportunity to reduce the unemployment rate in the State, the Governor urged them to keep in touch with the job creation office always.
The State government’s Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) and the Agricultural Entrepreneur Programme (YAGEP) have in the past five years engaged over 5,000 Delta youths.
