Canada: 25-year-old Man Charged With Murder In Stabbing Of Nigerian Student Ifeanyichukwu Oseke In Scarborough

A Toronto man faces a murder charge following the fatal stabbing of a student from Nigeria in a Scarborough parking lot.

When Toronto Police officers arrived at the parking lot in the Eglinton Ave.-Brimley Rd. area at 7:10 p.m. on June 25, they found two men who had been involved in an altercation.

An injured man — Ifeanyichukwu Oseke, 28 — was rushed to hospital where he later died.

Tamar Cupid, 25, is charged with second-degree murder.

The search for the then male suspect that was last seen fleeing the scene in a dark-coloured sedan, heading south on Brimley Road, started in the days that followed.

On July 1, police gave an update on the investigation and identified 25-year-old Toronto resident, Tamar Cupid, as the suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing.

Police said a Canada-wide warrant was issued for Tamar Cupid on the charge of second-degree murder.

In a recent update, police said Cupid was arrested and charged hours into the warrant.

He has appeared before the Toronto Regional Bail Centre.
