Nigerians React As 2 Boko Haram Commanders Surrender To Nigerian Troops In Sambisa Forest 

Nigerians have reacted to the surrender of two top Commanders of the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād otherwise known as Boko Haram – Khaid Malam Ali and his lieutenant, Bunu Umar.

Both top terrorists Commanders surrendered to the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in North East of Borno State, Nigeria.

Zagazola Makama, Security Analyst, Counter Insurgency Expert, LakeChad, West Africa reported that Ali and his fighters were dislodged by the ISWAP terrorists group after they coordinated a raid at the hideouts of Boko Haram in Bula Alhaji Garwaye in the fingers of Sambisa Near Bama LGA on, July 5, 2023.

The  Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) killed scores of Boko Haram fighters, including their women and children.  Ali was a Commander of the terrorists in Sabil Huda and Njumia. He laid down his arms due to the fear of Battle field elimination.

While some Nigerians hailed the arrest, others showed skepticism.

Sadiq, Ibrahim.@Sadiq_ibrahim1 said: “They should be made to face the law of the land. There must be consequences for any action or conduct.”

Abara@AbaraEgwu added: “He will still remain a BH informant and pick up arms when convenient.”

Adeyemi@Ayinuowo1: “They should please take good care of them, take them to rehabilitation center, cloth them and enroll them in learning a skill And also they shouldn’t forget giving them monthly allowance because they deserve it It’s not easy to kill a lot of innocent citizens and then surrender.”

@exboy10 noted: “How e no go surrender with that his hand chup off? He can’t do anything.”
