The Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal on Wednesday nullified the victory of Senator Abubakar Ohere of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the winner of the kogi Central Senatorial election.

Governor of the State, Yahaya Bello, is from the district.

The court further declared Natasha Akpoti- Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the actual winner of the February 25, 2023 Senatorial election in Kogi Central.

The Tribunal Chairman, Justice K. A. Orjiako, who read the unanimous judgment of the three-man panel, said Ohere results were inflated in nine polling units of Ajaokuta Local Government Area (LGA) while that of Natasha was intentionally reduced in nine of the same polling units by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The tribunal also noted that results in three polling units result was deliberately not entered for Natasha in the same Ajaokuta LGA.

The court, after making the proper corrections, declared Natasha Akpoti- Uduaghan (PDP) as winner of the poll, having polled 54,074, against Ohere (APC) who polled 51,291.
