Nigeria: Troops Rescue 4 Additional Students Of Federal University Gusau

Nigerian troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI in Zamfara State have rescued four kidnapped students of Federal University Gusau (FUGUS).

An unspecified number of students were abducted by terrorists on Saturday 14 October 2023 from their off campus residence at Sabon Gida, in the Damba area of Gusau Local Government Area (LGA) in Zamfara State.

Already, the Spokesperson for Operation Hadarin Daji, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, confirmed the success of the rescue operation.

Sources said that the troops, on receiving swiftly to distress calls on the kidnapped students, immediately mobilized and formed a blocking position at a possible withdrawal route which led to heavy gun duel with the terrorists.

Troops’ superiority forced the terrorists to abandon the victims and fled. During the encounter with the terrorists around 12 am, two of the students escaped while another two, a male and a female, were safely rescued.

According to a source: “The troops of Operation Hadarin Daji immediately mobilized and formed blocking position at a possible withdrawal routes which led to heavy gun duel with the terrorists.

“Troops superiority forced the terrorists to abandon the victims and fled. During the encounter with the terrorists, two of the students escaped while the two others a male and female were safely rescued by the gallant soldiers.”
