Officials of Transmissin Company of Nigeria (TCN), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) and other agencies to inspect consignments of power equipment for improvement of power supply to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
The team was led on Monday to the Gwagwalada 132/33KV substation in Abuja by the Programme Manager of TCNs’ Project Implementation Office (PMO) of Transmission -Distribution (SLA) Projects, Engr. Mathew Ajibade.
According to the General Manager (Public Affairs) of TCN, Ndidi Mbah, the equipment delivered by the Company; Bussdorr & Company Ltd, is part of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) intervention in power sector – NEMSF -3.
Mbah noted that “the facility aims to resolving the transmission/distribution interface bottlenecks nationwide to improve supply to end users and unlock the unutilized generation capacity in the country.
“PMO has made progress with the implementation of the programme, despite challenges encountered and is committed to ensure the successful implementation of the programme June 2024 latest.
“During the week, stakeholders on the projects will also be on the scheduled inspection tour to inspect the equipment delivered and some selected project sites in Lagos.”
