Killings: Tinubu Condemns Terrorists’ Attacks In Katsina, Directs Security Agencies To Go After Assailants

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday “strongly” condemned the recent spate of attacks against citizens in Dutsin-Ma and Kankara Local Government Areas of Katsina State.

No fewer than 26 people were killed when terrorists invaded Gidan Boka village, Kankara Local Government Area (LGA) in Katsina State on Sunday at about 3p.m.

The Katsina State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Aliyu, in a statement on Monday said that the terrorists who were “armed with dangerous weapons,” attacked Gidan Boka village, killing 20 villagers and injuring two others.

“The slain security personnel include three Police Inspectors, one Corporal, and two members of the Katsina Community Watch Corps,” the statement added.

Describing the latest attacks as grisly and sinister, President Tinubu emphasized “that more will be done to secure citizens and completely degrade terrorists and other harbingers of death and sorrow in any part of the country.

“President Tinubu directs security agencies to go after the assailants and ensure that they are brought to justice.

“The President condoles with the families of the deceased, as well as the Government and people of Katsina State, and prays for the repose of the souls of the departed.”
