Woman Arrested After Crash That Killed 2 Elderly Couple in Derbyshire Village; As Woman In Serious Injuries After Attack With Metal Pole In Derbyshire Town

A woman has been charged in connection with a collision in which two people died. The incident occurred in Nottingham Road, Chaddesden, close to the junction of Highfield Lane on June 14, 2023.

The Police said a Ford Mondeo and a Jaguar XF were involved in the incident. The passenger of the Jaguar, a woman in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jaguar, a man in his 80s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died a short time later.

This is just a woman was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries during an assault in a Derbyshire town – with two other people also being attacked. Derbyshire Police were called to an incident in Nottingham Road, Alfreton – just after 11.40pm on Friday, September 20.

The Police stated that the driver of the Mondeo, Jane Hunter-Priestley of Highfield Lane, Derby, a woman in her 60s, was taken to hospital and has subsequently been arrested and released on non-conditional bail.

Hunter-Priestley has now been charged with causing death by dangerous driving. The 63-year-old is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on 17 October.

On the woman taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries during an assault in a Derbyshire town, the Police Force Spokesperson said: “A woman in her 20s suffered serious facial injuries after being hit in the face with a metal pole. She was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Two other people, a man in his 20s and and a woman in her 30s, were also assaulted. Their injuries are not serious or life-threatening.

“Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or those with any CCTV or dashcam footage.”
