Overseas Friends of BJP Nigeria Chapter Condemns “Heinous Terrorist Attack” On Hindu Tourists In Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India

The Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) Nigeria Chapter expresses its deepest condolences and vehement condemnation of the recent barbaric terrorist attack on innocent Hindus in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India.

Intelligence sources said that seven terrorists are believed to have carried out the attack – four to five of them suspected to be from Pakistan, with at least two possibly being local militants. Their identities are still being verified.

“The Urdu that they (the foreign terrorists) spoke is spoken in certain parts of Pakistan,” a senior security officer said, adding that “at least two local militants are suspected to be accompanying them, but we don’t yet know which part of Kashmir they came from.”

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khwaja Asif has denied any involvement, claiming, “We have absolutely nothing to do with it. We reject terrorism in all its forms.” But Indian officials remain sceptical.

Kiran M. Gosavi, Executive Committee Member of Overseas Friends of BJP Nigeria Chapter, said in a statement it is regrettable that Nigeria and India, two vibrant democracies, share the unfortunate experience of battling terrorism.

Gosavi noted that “both nations understand the devastating impact of such violence on communities and the importance of a unified front against extremism. It is high time that every country should unite to eliminate terrorism from the world to restore peace.”

He stated that “this cowardly act, suspected to be sponsored by Pakistan-based terrorist outfits, is a stark reminder of the persistent threat terrorism poses to humanity.

“The targeting of unarmed civilians, particularly during a religious pilgrimage, is a heinous crime against humanity. We stand in solidarity with the families of the victims and pray for the swift recovery of those injured. Such acts of violence seek to disrupt peace and sow discord, and we must remain resolute in our determination to combat terrorism in all its forms.

“This attack is a stark reminder that terrorism knows no boundaries and respects no faith.”

Gosavi, who is a prominent voice against injustice and terrorism, added: “It is imperative that the international community unites to dismantle these terror networks and hold those responsible accountable.”

In the statement titled ‘A Call for Global Unity Against Terrorism,’ Gosavi noted: “The world must unite against the scourge of terrorism. It is a cancer that threatens the very fabric of our societies. We cannot afford to remain complacent. Every nation, regardless of its geographical location or political affiliations, must play a proactive role in eradicating this menace.

“The OFBJP Nigeria Chapter calls upon the international community to:

– Condemn this act of terrorism unequivocally.

– Strengthen international cooperation to combat terrorism.

– Demand Pakistan take concrete action against terrorist organizations operating within its borders.

– Support India’s efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.

– Work together to build a world free from terror.

“We reiterate our unwavering support for the Indian government’s efforts to ensure the safety and security of its citizens and to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice.”
