Power Outage For Parts Of Abuja Over Planned Preventive Maintenance – TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Tuesday alerted residents and business owners in parts of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) that the the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will conduct “planned preventive maintenance exercise on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

A statement by TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said that the maintenance will take place at its Karu 132/33kV Transmission Station.

According to the statement, it will take place “from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The exercise is to enable the TCN maintenance crew to decouple and replace the defective 33kV Feeder K2 line isolator.

“Consequently, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to offtake power for distribution to its customers in Jikwoyi, Orozo, Kurudu, Karshi, Navy Estate, and environs.

“Please note that power supply will be restored as soon as the maintenance work is completed.”
