Oprah Winfrey is one of the most influential and inspiring women in today’s times. Her impact is simply powerful. With all the right words and actions, she has taken a place in everyone’s hearts, especially among ladies. She has inspired women to be their best selves. Her pieces of advice on success, self love and motivation towards life has touched countless people’s hearts and made them march towards a better path. Her pieces of advice on love and relationships is a par above the rest. Take a look at some of her best pieces of advice or quotes. 28

Excuses

You shouldn’t have to make an excuse for your partner when things get rough. They should be present with you to deal with it together. Oprah has rightfully said, “Stop making excuses for a man and his behaviour. Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.”38

Wants and needs

Don’t blindly fall in love and wait for your partner to ask you to stay. If they love you enough, there won’t be the need to even ask them. “If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away. If he doesn’t want you, nothing can make him stay,” says Oprah. 48

Future expectations

Is your relationship going the way you expected it to? Or are you simply in it just because you can’t leave your partner? You shouldn’t have to endure the same behaviour again and again. Know when it’s time to go. “You’ll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better.”58

Forgiveness

It truly takes a lot to forgive and let go. It isn’t easy, certainly not for the person who has been hurt. But there’s true positivity in learning to accept everything as an experience that will eventually help you grow. “True forgiveness is when you can say, ‘Thank you for that experience.’”68

Compromises

You shouldn’t be the only one to compromise in a relationship. It takes two to tango. Your partner should also equally give their contribution or compromise to make the relationship better. Oprah rightfully says, “You should not be the one doing all the bending–compromise is a two-way street.”78

Treating you better

Your partner should always treat you right, even during fights. And if they aren’t, there should be a boundary as to how they treat you. “Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you. If something bothers you, speak up.” Don’t let anyone tell you better.88

Cheating and infidelity

Cheating causes a ton of heartbreak. But there’s a fine line as to if they will do it again. “Never borrow someone else’s man. If he cheated with you, he’ll cheat on you,” says Oprah and she couldn’t be more right. You never know if they might cheat on you too.
