A loving husband was fatally stabbed in the neck by his wife who has now been found guilty of his murder. Henri Kekkonen, 41, was knifed to death by his wife Christine Kekkonen in Baltonsborough, a small village Northeast of Glastonbury, in Somerset, United Kingdom (UK).

Henri, described as a loving and doting husband to his wife, died at the home they shared in Dunford Terrace on May 9, earlier this year. ‘Vulnerable’ Christine Kekkonen, 36, claimed that she did not intend to injure Henri but was found guilty of his murder at Bristol Crown Court today, Friday, November 29.

The court heard how Henri was attacked at some point between 4pm and 4.20pm. Christine Kekkonen sent a text to her mum at 4.21pm saying: “Mum, please get the police here now. Please. I’ve done something awful.”

Her dad then called for an ambulance and Police were informed of the violent incident. Emergency Services rushed to the scene and were there within 15 minutes but Henri’s injuries were too severe and proved fatal.

A subsequent search of the house led to the discovery of a knife used in the attack. Christine Kekkonen was arrested on suspicion of murder and later charged by detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team. She will now be sentenced on Friday, March 28, next year, 2025.

Detective Superintendent Lorett Spierenburg, the senior investigating officer, said: “Henri was a loving husband who aged 41 had so much more life to live. Those opportunities were cruelly taken from him.

“Christine Kekkonen is clearly a vulnerable woman, but her actions that afternoon have cut short the life of a man who completely doted on her. I am pleased for Henri’s family that the woman responsible for his death has today been convicted of his murder and my thoughts remain with them.”
