Nigerian Army, Navy Receives Tantita’s 15 Donated Patrol Boats

The Nigerian Army and Navy have taken delivery of 15 patrol boats donated by Tantita Security Services Nigeria and constructed by the Nigerian Navy Shipyard.

The company said it contracted the Nigerian Navy Shipyard in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to build the boats in line with its commitment to local content and indigenous expertise.

The vessels were formally handed over at a ceremony on 14 May, highlighting efforts to combat crude oil theft, illegal bunkering, and pipeline vandalism.

In his welcome address, Superintendent of the Naval Shipyard, Rear Admiral I Ubani, said: “This project reflects our drive to deepen local content and advance indigenous shipbuilding.”

Making the official handover, General Efe Edafioghor (rtd), representing Tantita’s Managing Director, Kestin Pondi, stated: “Today marks another step forward in safeguarding Nigeria’s oil and gas infrastructure.

“These boats are built to world-class standards with crew capacity of seven making it highly effective for patrol and security operations.”

Receiving the boats, Major General E E Emekah expressed appreciation and assured effective deployment.

“This donation represents a shared vision for a safer maritime environment and a commendable example of corporate social responsibility, others should emulate.”

“The commissioning and donation of the gun boats stands as a resounding statement of what can be achieved when local expertise, corporate social responsibility (CSR) investment, strategic partnership and national interest align,” Tantita said.

Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited is a private security company headquartered in Effurun, Delta State, specializing in protecting Nigeria’s vital oil and gas infrastructure through pipeline protection, paramilitary escort, and advanced surveillance operations.

The company operates in close collaboration with the Nigerian Navy, the Nigerian Army, and other security agencies, combining intelligence-driven operations with physical patrols and community engagement strategies.
