COVID-19: As world records 1,857,095 cases with 113,902 deaths, Nigeria’s figure increase by five to 323 cases and 10 deaths

Nigeria has recorded five new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 323. The figure was 318 as at Saturday night, one of the slowest records in recent days.

This is just as the total number of cases worldwide is now 1,847,095 with 113,902 deaths. There is a total of 422,488 recovered but discharged cases and 50,761 serious critical cases worldwide.

For Africa, it recorded a total of 15,081 confirmed cases with a total of 791 deaths, 2,921 recorded and discharged cases while new cases jumped by 861 in one day, Africa’s biggest one-day jump.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said in its Twitter handle on Sunday that of the five new cases, two were confirmed in Lagos, two in Kwara and one in Katsina.

In addition to the total number of 323, 85 have been discharged after testing positive negative twice while in isolation while a total of 10 deaths has been recorded.

According to the Tweet by NCDC, “Five new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows: 2 in Lagos, 2 in Kwara, 1 in Katsina. As at 09:10 pm 12th April there are 323 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 85 have been discharged with 10 deaths.

“With the new figure, the breakthrough for the States show that Lagos -176 FCT- 56, Osun- 20, Edo- 12, Oyo- 11, Ogun- 7, Bauchi- 6, Kaduna- 6, Akwa Ibom- 5, Katsina-5, Kwara- 4, Delta- 3, Enugu- 2, Ekiti- 2, Rivers-2, Ondo- 2, Benue- 1, Niger- 1, Anambra- 1, Kano-1.”
