2023 Elections: Vote For Right Candidate For President, Not Structure Or Party – Peter Obi

Frontline Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi, on Wednesday re-emphasized his earlier calls on Nigerians to vote for the best candidate for the office of President and not vote structure or party.

In his goodwill message on Wednesday to the 2022 Divine Commonwealth Conference (DIVCON) of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) holding at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, Obi said the solution to Nigeria’s problems requires a leader who can deliver quality leadership.

He reminded Nigerians that 2023 Presidential election is not the right of any of the Presidential candidates except such candidate has the competence to lead the country out her difficult challenges.

“Let me make it clear that 2023 presidency is nobody’s turn; it is nobody’s right. It has also nothing to do with Religion”, he admonished.

The Labour Party Presidential candidate also warned that leadership must be by competence and capacity and not any by other emotional consideration.

“Vote for the right person, not basis of political party or political structure” he further admonished.

Obi who received thunderous ovation from the about 6,000 delegates attending the Conference spoke 24 hours after the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Ifeanyi Okowa also addressed the Conference.

The former Governor of Anambra State thanked the Primate and Metropolitan of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), The Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba and the leadership of the Anglican Communion for giving him the opportunity to address the gathering.
