Israel Kills IRGC Navy Chief Alireza Tangsiri, Man Behind Hormuz Strait Closure

The Israeli military has reportedly “eliminated” Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri, Israeli media said on Thursday.

An Israeli official says that Tangsiri was killed in a strike in Bandar Abbas, adding that he was responsible for the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the Times of Israel reported.

There has been no official comment yet from Iran or from the Israeli military on the reported strike.

Meanwhile, INN Iran National News says Iranian Navy Commander, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, has issued a warning over the USS Abraham Lincoln.

He said it is under constant surveillance, adding that it will be targeted by the Army and Navy if it enters the range of Iran’s missile.

The USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) is based at NAS North Island in San Diego, California as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet and serves as the flagship for Carrier Strike Group 3.
