The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation ENDURING PEACE (COPEP), Major General Folusho Oyinlola, on Wednesday received a delegation from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Nigeria, comprising the Team Leader, Commodore AO Oshatunberu, Chief Instructors, Members of Directing staff and students of Senior Course 48 (SC 48).
The team is on a study tour to the Headquarters 3 Division and Operation ENDURING PEACE Areas of Responsibility (AoR).
General Oyinlola, in his welcome address, commended the AFCSC for sustaining its tradition of exposing students to practical operational and security realities across the country, noting that such study tours provide valuable opportunities for students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical field experience, particularly in contemporary joint and multi-agency operations.
In furtherance of the mission, the GOC/COPEP highlighted the operational engagements of Operation ENDURING PEACE in maintaining peace and stability within its Area of Responsibility through robust security measures, strategic engagements and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
He emphasized the commitment of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies toward ensuring lasting peace and security in Plateau State and adjoining areas.
The visiting team was thereafter briefed extensively on the activities, operational strategies, achievements and challenges of Operation ENDURING PEACE. The briefing also covered the operational environment, civil-military cooperation efforts, intelligence-driven operations and ongoing initiatives aimed at sustaining peace and fostering harmonious coexistence among communities within the Joint Operations Area.
During the interactive session, students of SC 48 engaged the GOC and COPEP on various aspects of operational planning, inter-agency collaboration, conflict management and contemporary security challenges.
Responding to questions from the participants, Major General Oyinlola provided detailed insights into the operational dynamics of Operation ENDURING PEACE and stressed the importance of professionalism, synergy among security agencies and community support in achieving operational success.
The GOC encouraged the students to remain committed to the ideals of effective leadership, strategic thinking and jointness as future senior military leaders. He also charged them to continually uphold the highest standards of discipline, loyalty and service to the nation.
The visit formed part of the AFCSC SC 48 Nigeria Study Tour designed to expose students to operational realities and enhance their understanding of national security management and joint operations within the Nigerian Armed Forces.
