The Commander of 13 Brigade, Brig. Gen. Brig. Gen. PO Alimikhenna, has led a delegation of Nigerian military officers to a security meeting with their Cameroonian counterparts over cross-border movements and security coordination along the Nigeria–Cameroon border in Cross River State.

Military sources said the visit followed earlier reports of Cameroonian troops entering Danare community in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The Nigerian delegation first visited the Nigeria–Cameroon border area at Danare community before proceeding to Dadi community in Cameroon for the bilateral engagement.

On arrival, the team was received by the Cameroonian military representative, Maj. Maj. Badamje, Commander of the 62nd Battalion Group.

Discussions at the meeting focused on strengthening synergy between both armed forces, addressing concerns over cross-border criminal activities, and clarifying incidents involving unauthorized movement of Cameroonian troops into Nigerian territory.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhanced cooperation, including timely intelligence sharing and the requirement for prior authorization before any cross-border military movement.

The meeting also addressed broader issues surrounding border delineation, with both parties agreeing to escalate the matter through appropriate bilateral channels for further consideration.

Authorities described the engagement as cordial and productive, noting that the visit and discussions were conducted without incident.
