Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Friday played host to Eid-el-Fitr luncheon for troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), reaffirming Nigerian Army’s commitment to enhancing troop morale and inter-agency collaboration through welfare-driven initiatives.

The COAS, represented by Chief of Administration (Army), Major General IM Abdullahi, told troops and their commanders at the Headquarters of Operation Enduring Peace in Jos, commended them for their dedication and sacrifices in maintaining peace and security.
Earlier, General Abdullahi was received by General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander, Operation Enduring Peace, Major General Folusho Oyinlola. Other dignitaries at the event include Special Adviser on Security to the Plateau State Government, Brigadier General GG Shipi (rtd), Commander, 551 Nigerian Air Force Station, heads of security agencies, senior officers and troops of 3 Division/Operation Enduring Peace.

The event was part of COAS’ efforts to motivate troops, enhance operational effectiveness and strengthen synergy among security agencies in addressing insecurity within the Joint Operations Area.
In his remarks, General Oyinlola also lauded the troops for their resilience and professionalism, urging them to remain courageous and committed to their duties.
He emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration among security agencies and community stakeholders in achieving lasting peace in the region.
The luncheon, according to military authorities, also served as a platform to promote unity, boost morale and foster peace-building efforts among personnel operating in the theatre.
